Fulltime Nights Job Summary The Monitor Technician is responsible for on‑going surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and for notifying clinicians immediately of any changes in cardiac rhythms. The role includes monitoring Sepsis Prevention and Optimization of Therapy (SPOT) alerts, initiating and discontinuing monitoring equipment for admissions, transfers, and discharges, and serving as a resource for training and troubleshooting for the Central Monitoring area. The Monitor Technician maintains observation of SPOT alerts and reports all alerts to the appropriate unit. Responsibilities On‑going surveillance of patient cardiac rhythms, notifying clinicians of any rate/rhythm changes according to orders. Managing telemetry units, initiating and discontinuing monitoring equipment on admission, transfer, or discharge. Serving as a gatekeeper for telemetry units, and managing SPOT alerts. Providing training and troubleshooting support to the Central Monitoring area. Qualifications Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
