Job Summary and Qualifications GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Transcriptionist provides a variety of clerical duties, including medical transcription, to physicians and other members of the clinic.
SUPERVISOR: Practice Manager DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO: • Transcribes dictated material, producing an average of at least 138 lines per hour.
• Meets production standards and maintains error of 3% or less.
• Edits reports in the system.
• Queues and transcribes all requests for STAT transcription as needed.
• Charts transcribed reports once a shift.
• Logs, prints, and maintains reports.
• Follows through with assignments and informs supervisor if unable to complete task.
• Maintains the strictest confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as required.
• Must read and understand and adhere to all Physician Services policies and procedures.
• Practice and adhere to the Code of Conduct and Mission and Values statements.
EDUCATION: • No education Requirement
EXPERIENCE: • One to three years' experience in a medical office setting is required. Prior transcription experience is preferred.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: • No license requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • Knowledge of medical office procedures and medical terminology
• Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation to type from draft copy, review and edit reports and correspondence.
• Skill in operating a computer, Dictaphone, and copy machine.
• Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to type at least 60 wpm.
• Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric systems.
• Ability to speak clearly and concisely.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
