Industrial Engineer Intern Position Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineering student to join our team. This part-time internship is ideal for a current student looking to gain hands-on experience in process improvement, operations analysis, and efficiency optimization. The selected intern will support projects aimed at improving productivity, reducing costs, and enhancing operational performance. Interns will gain meaningful exposure to continuous improvement and process improvement activities that directly influence our manufacturing operations. The work completed in this role will positively impact both our Clayton Supply Team Members and the materials created and distributed for the building of Clayton Manufactured Homes. Duties / Responsibilities: • Assist in analyzing workflows, processes, and systems to identify improvement opportunities • Support time studies, process mapping, and efficiency evaluations • Help develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and documentation • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) • Prepare reports, charts, and presentations summarizing findings • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and track performance metrics • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards • Internships within Clayton Supply are project-based and day-to-day responsibilities are determined by the intern project manager. Qualifications: • Junior or Senior standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher • Interested in pursuing a career in Industrial Engineering • Ability to multitask and work in a team environment • Demonstrated ability to meet commitments, build consensus, and garner respect from other teams • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work internally across all teams • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail • Excellent verbal and written communications skills • Proficient in Microsoft Office Physical Demands: • Must be able to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as telephone, calculator, copy machine, computer printer, etc. • Must be able to communicate with others via phone, email, and in person. Must be able to exchange accurate information with others. • Constantly works in an indoor, temperature-controlled, sealed-window office environment. • Work primarily involves sitting / standing
